Pelvic Osteopathy Essendon

Our Approach to Your Care

We begin with a comprehensive health history and a detailed discussion to truly understand your body and your goals. Following a thorough whole-body assessment, we formulate a treatment plan with you to help meet your individual goals.

Where necessary—and only with your informed consent—our practitioners can conduct internal assessments to directly assess and treat the pelvic floor and prescribe targeted rehabilitation. This will always be part of a broader treatment plan.

Internal techniques involve a gentle, direct assessment of the pelvic floor muscles via the vaginal canal. This allows your practitioner to reach deep tissues that aren’t accessible from the outside, providing a more precise level of care. External techniques focus on the surrounding structures—such as the hips, abdomen, and pelvis. While these are performed on the surface, they may involve areas close to intimate zones; therefore, we prioritise ongoing communication and explicit consent throughout every step of your treatment.

While internal techniques offer the most direct assessment of the pelvic floor, they are entirely optional. Your treatment plan can always be adapted to focus on external methods based on your comfort and preferences.

We are proud to work as part of your broader healthcare team to help manage complex conditions and improve your quality of life.
