A consultation with an Osteopath who has a focus on Paediatrics may help to identify any musculoskeletal factors that are contributing to your child’s symptoms.
In Australia, there are no “Specialisations” in Osteopathy. It can be said, however, that our Osteopath Lauren has dedicated much time and study into learning about the world of Paediatric Osteopathy, as she feels this is the natural progression from her other great love, which is treating pregnant women.
To begin, we will take a thorough history, including details about the mother’s pregnancy and delivery if the patient is still quite young. This may give us some clues as to what is happening with your child now. We will then perform a thorough examination of your child, which may include things such as orthopaedic, neurological or physical examinations.
Lauren is happy to work alongside a variety of other health professionals, such as GP’s, maternal and child health nurses, Paediatricians, and lactation consultants, to help meet the needs of your child.
Lauren’s aim is to provide education and treatment relating to the identified clinical and functional needs of babies, infants, and children, whilst always bearing in mind how these may impact the whole family.
